Seen it few times on here now, and this kinda thing grates my gears:

"Price by pm to: [email protected]"

I see no need for companies announcing new releases to come over all "international man of mystery" and make potential buyers jump through hoops just to find out how much a figure costs.

Just tell everyone openly how much it is and be done with it. That should be a forum selling requirement IMHO. It is anyway for guys doing private stash sales - so why not for companies also?

One possible exception: A figure still in the development stage, for which the final production costs might not yet be clear.

Rant over!

I tend to stay away from companies that do this. Because it usually leads to a nasty shock, and a hard hit on the wallet.

However, I think the main purpose is to get people to hit on their respective websites in order to showcase other products.(A sort of passing trade) not that it actually works.

I believe the modern term is 'clickbait'

I agree, and I too think it's a tool to get people to go to a website to be flogged more stuff.

Clickbait ....

(on the Internet) content whose main purpose is to attract attention and encourage visitors to click on a link to a particular web page.

Agree with Steves thoughts on this ....a marketing tool
