I've finally finished the last of my stash of 65mm E.C.W. figures from Elan13 Miniatures.
This is Prince Rupert and his dog Boy (or Boye).
Painting, as usual, was my mix of enamels, oils, acrylics and printers inks.

It's been fun painting these figures over the past few years, and they now make a nice display together.

The bottom middle one was originally from Darkstar Miniatures, before it's transfer to the Elan13 Miniatures collection.

A nice set of ECW, Andrew - I must say, though, not as a criticism, but the Prince Rupert figure's pose looks awfully camp!!(y)

Thank you for the kind comment Steve.
I fully agree with you about the pose. That's probably why it comes at the tail end of the set.
However, it's not as camp as one of my oldies:-

Lovely work Andrew and it's great to see all these together. They are great figures from a very interesting period in this country's history. I am very slowly working on the new standard bearer figure, I will get it done one day!

I was struck by an amazing Van Dyck portrait I saw at the National Gallery on a recent visit:

My wife and I were both struck by the clothing and the way these two gentleman seem keen to show off their amazing fashion sense. If you went out dressed like that today, I am sure comments would be made..... Yet they were clearly quite tough chaps as both were killed fighting in the Civil War, and the chap on the right commanded the Life Guards. Different times in the 17th century!

Hi Kevin,

Thanks for the kind comments.
It's a real shame what modern dog 'lovers' have done to the French poodle. It looked so much better in its original hunting dog form.
As for the Gordon, it was a very early Airfix conversion which tied in with the Club's 'play on words' theme.

Cheers,
Andrew

Thank you Nigel. I'm pleased to liked him/them.
Look forward to seeing your standard bearer.
Thanks also for the Van Dyck poses. It shows that Mr. Blank was on form in more ways than one.

Lovely work Andrew. It's good to see them all together.
You'll need the new Preacher to complete the set:)

I'm pleased you like him (and his mates)Robert.
However, I think I'll give the preacher a pass as I have an aversion to the religious characters that wave the flag, but don't get personally involved in the messy work.
Meanwhile, I've just finished Hakeswill (a fun paint), and 'Slackbladder' is waiting to jump on the bench.

Cheers,
Andrew
