I have finished a few 1/35 figure, yet there is some problems:
1. the facial ratio is not correct
2. i can't handle the sculpt the shape of eyeballs (i have mentioned in pervious message)

3. i found it is difficult to handle the "folding" on clothes...

can anyone here give me some advice, or articles, or reference books?
thanks

Hi Titan  Perhaps you could get Mike Blank's new book on figure sculpting;that might answer some of the problems that you are facing.Cheers !

Hi Titan. Sculpting 1/35 figures is not an easy task but surely not that impossible. Try to find a good anatomy book with head ratios. Even with the eyes , break them down and they'll come out easier. With regards to folds on clothing , I used to use a lot a book titled 'Dynamic wrinkles and drapery ' by Burne Hogarth. Nowadays most folds come somewhat natural. Do like me and play around like a fool. I dress up in similar clothing in front of the mirror and take notes

For the folds, I was suggested to study paintingsa and drawings of Duerer (Dürer), and it sure looks like a great idea!

Titan, can I suggest you get the book "Creating life-like figures in polymer clay" by Katherine Dewey. (ISBN 0-9741530-0-1). Whilst not aimed at the military miniature genre, it is superior to any that are.

In my opinion, this book is the most complete step-by-step guide through the whole figure sculpting process around.

Bryon Ray bought that book and really talked it up. I'll have to get one. Katherine Dewey also has a book about sculpting animals.

I totally agree with the rest of the guys,Titan;I myself got the book the moment I heard about it on the "planet" and, boy, was it ever complete with regards to sculpting and proportions.Get the book ASAP,it's the best investment that you will ever make ! Cheers.
Kenneth :)
