Proto Gas Mask Images

Victor Wong (Blaster) asked a question about British WWI Proto gas masks, cylinders and images. I'm attaching three photos from the web. All I know about the Proto gear is that it was originally German and used in mines and mine rescue. Anybody else have some info or images they can contribute?
