Good morning, this is my last figure for a collector here in Spain,is a study of the "grey and blue"with acrilycs and a totally flat effect, with combined Vallejo and Andrea colors, and another expresion in his eyes.a good challenge in this scale,my favorite..Thanks to Stefano for this masterpiece. Jose,

Good stuff. I REALLY like the somewhat subdued colouring and the flat effect. Makes it all look very realistic to me (at least according to my definition of realism :) )

Hi Jose

I agree with Marvin - the subdued colurs are very effective and do add realism. The facial tones are also very convincing - a sort of old/young look.

Unlike Janne, I had not even considered this piece as it didn't inspire me (unusual for a FPW/Canone subject). However, now I've seen how it can look, I may have to rethink :)

Excellent work

Regards

Phil

I've only seen the publicity photos of this figure, and I was impressed but your rendering is all the more impressive. Lucky collector to have this in their collection.

Excellent skin tones. I really love them. Also the color of the uniform is presented nicely.

EXCELLENT work Jose! I love the blues and greys. It turned out well. Now I'm going to have to run out and get this figure ;) .

Hi Jose. That is awesome work. I know how good this figure is because I too painted it for a collector. lucky for me I still have it in my possession because I want to take it to Boston. Then I will have to part with it. Again , great stuff

Yes,of corse;the first coat with a 70% of prussian blue (andrea colors),20% napoleonic green and 10% flat black (vallejo model color). The initial highligts with a touch of turquoise, then received sunny skintone and brown sand;the shadows (five o`clock as the lights) with a wash of pure flat black and flat earth 70-30%;the final touch is a controlled wash in violets and earth tones, and bordering black lines around buttons, cuffs, seams, etc.thanks for your attention.Jose.

Hi Jose

I believe this figure could be based on a character from the Alfonse de Neuville drawing of the battle of Le Bourget. If anyone knows the picture, this could well be the Prussian officer in centre front with his back to the viewer.

Mr Cannone's FPW pieces really bring de Neuville into three dimensions.

Thanks for posting the pictures - your collector is a fortunate man :)
