The Puppeteer by Medieval Forge is on my to do list (it's been pre-ordered) and in researching and planning I came across EZ Line on the internet which might have application to our hobby. It's available on Amazon and Ebay and comes in different diameters and colors to suit your needs.

Basically it's a simplified and more effective way to simulate wires, ropes, fences, etc. I plan to use it to simulate the strings on the king puppet in MFM's Puppeteer but it may have more uses so I thought I'd share the information with you.

It's some kind of polymer, no fuzz, no kinks, that will stretch when bumped so you no longer will have to re-glue lines, etc. Attaches easily with ca glue. Here's a link to a demonstration of the product. It's worth a look. Sold me on using it for the Puppeteer.

Happy to do a picture review, Nap. Not expecting the bust for a couple more weeks.

I use EZ Line to rig my WW1 1/32 scale biplane models. One tip though; they say you can stretch it multiple (2-3) times the length of the (unstretched) piece however this places a lot of tension on the line. I never stretch it by more than 20-25% the length of the cut line.

Good tip Rick. My puppeteer is on back order, and I too was mulling over those strings. Most of the bipes I've done have been rigged with nylon monofilament fishing line, but I'm gonna give this stuff a look for sure.

I've looked at this figure, but it doesn't really grab me. I'll be following g your progress, it is surely a challenging project.

Thanks, Phil. I was told a few weeks ago that it would be a week or two before it was in stock in the US... riiiiggghhhht! But he's worth waiting for. And it gives me time to figure out some possible color combinations. I'm torn between making his outfit bright and colorful, contrasting with the sinister nature of his face, or letting the costume colors reinforce that sinister nature. Your thoughts?

I think the contrast between the bright and jolly colours of his costume, and the sinister look of his face will work well to convey the dark juxtaposition of the disgruntled servant imagining how he would 'play' his master...

Hi Rick

I don't see him as sinister personally. He has a vague Danny Kay look about him to my eye. I kinda saw him as having a bit of fun with the King's kids. Blues and yellows in mind at the moment. BTW, I ordered some EZ Line - had to come from your side of the lake:D

Hmmmm, interesting. I hadn't thought of him that way. In any event it should be fun watching both approaches and how they develop his character. I don't see why both shouldn't work.
