I'm working on a 1/10 pirate bust based on a sketch by illustrator Howard Pyle. Below is the drawing along with a few pictures of the Sculpey sketch. You can follow this project more in depth on my blog http://garyminsculpt.blogspot.com/

Cool Gary!

Is this a one off or will it be produced commercially?? I would definitely drop the doubloons for one!

Pyle + pirate? Now that's what I'm talkin' about! The sketch looks super Gary (full size?), looking forward to seeing how the finished piece progresses (y)

This for yourself or commercial?

Guys, Thanks for all the comments. I'm not sure where the piece will end up I'm just trying to have some fun with the character. ~Gary

Well John Rosengrant loves Pyle. We have had a few conversations about Pyle and N.C. Wyeth. I am sure he will not mind. Your figure is not a copy of his figure but based on the same inspiration. Your figure already looks different. In some ways closer to the original sketch. Nice work I cannot wait to see it finished.
