Today in the mailbox ordered by El Greco Miniatures.
Awesome delivery, ordered it Friday got it today.
Excellent.
This is my second issue of QTM, and i really was eager to see if it was improved.
I have to say , yes, its much better then the first issue because it is now 48 pages thick.
My disappointment is that from page 16 till page 27 there is no English translation in it. It is the report from the Citta di Roma that is only coverd in Italian language. This is very disapointing.
When i go to the end of te magazine i see a tank....and i thought it was a figure magazine...
So, gonna wait for number three, maybe the last for me.
We have to give them credit, but how much????

Many thanks for the comments Marc, will be interesting to see what variety of the content is like in issue 3, shame about the lack of English translation, this was not a problem in issue 1 of the magazine. Only time will tell.

To clarify matters, there are EIGHT full-length feature articles in the magazine; however, it is only the Show Report that has not been translated. This article covers 10 pages, of which around 6 are show pictures (with captions in Italian). And please remember that first and foremost, this is an Italian publication.

Also regarding the "tank" feature, kindly note that QTM never announced that it was going to be an exclusive figure magazine. They intend to cover most aspects of the hobby but, for the most part, will focus on figures.

This is only the second issue of the magazine. I do not think it is fair to dismiss them just from 2 issues. Ater all, as with all magazines, it ALL depends on contributions by modellers!!

I wrote i give some credits. So i wait for number three. But in my opinion 48 pages has to be 48 pages and not only for the Italian people. At the end we all pay for readable 48 pages.
When there is spoken about translation then it should be for all the 48 pages.
The paintmix from Danillo with the Alan Ball figure is also not translated.
I think the people who made QTM should be more precise for the buyers who can only read English.
And Yes, i give some credit again.

Some clarification by QTM

Hello, I'm Fabrizio, editor of QTM magazine. I would like to thank Celine
for providing some clarification, to which I would like to add something
myself.

Marc, you are correct in saying that when you pay for a magazine, you would
want it all to be translated, and I apologise for this. In this recent
issue, the article regarding the "Citta di Roma" Trophy was inserted at the
last minute and it was impossible to have it translated; otherwise, the
magazine would have been further delayed. We inserted many photos to make up
for this omission. I assure you that I don't think this will happen again.

The article regarding the La Meridiana figure is translated but it tackles
the historical not the painting aspect. The painting guide was not
translated due to lack of time.

Here is the translation:

Hat: iron grey; cord and tassels, green; tricolour ribbon; green feathers;
chin-strap in black leather;
Jacket: scarlet red, gold buttons;
Trousers: bluish grey;
Gaiters: light ochre, white;
Shoes: black;
Saddlebag: coarse canvas
Canteen: light brown felt; white strap;
Belt, bayonet scabbard: black leather with brass buckles;
Backpack: black leather
Blanket: brown
Rifle: wood, reinforced in brass, barrel in burnished metal, black leather
strap

With regard to other modelling genres featured in the magazine, QTM's policy
is to present articles which focus mainly on figures and fantasy subjects,
but including articles (one per issue) on tanks, planes and other subjects,
when we feel that the subject of the article is interesting. We have
increased the number of pages and articles and I believe that one article
(out of eight) which does not cover figures can be considered acceptable.

Fabrizio,
First of all thank's for the magazine. Beside some remarks i made i still find it a wonderfull magazine that has to cristalize. It has my credit. The pages of the show are great, but i mis alot when i can't read the information that is given.
I'm very pleased that there is a (figure)modelling magazine for the people who can't read more foreighn languages then English.
It's a giant leep forward for those people where i'm surely one of.
But stupid me thought that it was entirely published for figures.
Thanks for the translation for the La Meridiana figure here.
And you can count on me when the third edition is released.....gonna see what that brings.
Hoping for more figures, and more pages.....
What more can we want.

Fabrizio,
I think perhaps you must consider to include the translations in the next magazine issue. It will be very usefull for all the people that bought the number 2.
