hey Black Army,

please post in German or English, 'cause i don't speak/write Hungarian

thx

Google translation.

"Hi Stephen!

Hungarian writers, because they do not understand it. If you are using the original Hornet heads, you can not sell the figuráidat. It is generally quite accustomed to big scandal here. I suggest you create two new heads and try your luck again."

Which isnt hard to understand. If copying a head is allowed, why stop there?

Cheers

Modified or not, I would NOT consider marketing those figures to be quite honest. Are the weapons originals or from another manufactuer? ~Gary

Judging by the way you sculpt the rest of the figure,
I think you can sculpt nice heads yourself. :)

The figure with M4 is posed quite nicely. But the other
figure with Barrett needs some work done.

hey all,

you are right, marketing duplicates from other manufacturers is not the way it should be done...anyway, i already got this information about copyrights from other sources.
As this was my first contact with somebody who wants to publish my work it was a good lesson learned.

thx for your hints

bye

I agree with Taesung. Great work so far. Can't wait to see your next projects :)

best regards and thanks for sharing us your works

Sorry All!

After the Hungarian name I have belived you are Hungarian, and I wanted to propose: don't use parts from other maufacturers, if you want to sell them. It was just a friendly good advice! ;)

By the way congrats to the figures!

Cheers,
Balázs

Hi Black Army,

thanks for your comment, sorry for not understanding you, i have some roots in hungary (my grand grand father ...something like that ;) ), but i have no idea of the language.

have a nice day

This brings up a good question, something I have been wondering.
Lets say that you take a bunch of body parts from different figure kits and glue them together into a different pose, then completely sand off all the detail and re sculpt your own detail on top, just using the parts from the other kits as a base to sculpt on?

That is way more work than just making your own figure...

It's been done. In theory, you're using the stuff just as shaped plastic rod by that point... but it's certainly a grey area. Similar thorny issue for some people regarding the use of commercial mannequin or dolly figures as the basis for commercial sculpts too (Mike Blank did at least one of those).

The simplest way of avoiding even the appearance of impropriety though is to work truly from scratch, from raw materials so to speak.

Yep, sure sounds like it! But it overcomes a specific stumbling block for many people who have trouble visualising in 3D.
