Dear planeteers,

which one is the right order at General Kornilovs breast near to the Saint George Order - Saint Stanislas or another one?

Thank you for answeres!

Cheers

Hi Martin,

He has been awarded orders of St George 3d and 4th grade, St Anne 2d grade and St Stanislav 3d grade

He was awarded Stanislav for his exploration of Asia, so before 1903, and St Anne in 1910 for diplomatic work in China.

St Anne is more prestigious and probably more relevant - depending on the date of the photograph - what is it?

Martin, I had a little dig and found more on exact dates. Also found that St. Stanislav is above St Anne (me bad!)

The zoomed picture - I think it has forked ends of the cross and I wouldn't rule swords out there. St. Stanislav? I am sorry I am not much help it seems:confused:

Order of St. Stanislav 3d grade - 1901
Order of St. Anne 3d grade -1903
Order of St Stanislav 2d grade -1904
Order of St. George 4th grade - 1905
Swords to Order of Stanislav 2d grade -1906
Golden sword for bravery 1907
Order of St. Anne 2d grade - 1909
Order of St george 3d grade - 1915

This is apparently (allegedly) Kornilov's own St. Stanislav with swords. Found here http://coollib.com/b/271137/read
