Question on Highlighing Black/Cavalry Trooper

Hello all,

Here is a 1/72 scale 4-part conversion using a separate hat, head, toso and legs from 4 Italeri figures. He is the beginning of a diorama I am starting called "Tracking Geronimo."

All comments are welcome - but I would really like some tips on highlighting black. I've looked into the uniforms of the time - and while they are "bluecoats" the blue is so dark it is almost black.

So experts - chime in!

If anyone has photos of a similar figure - I'd love to see them.

If you paint in oils, you can highlight with Naples yellow.

Jon, Some folks highlight black with small amounts of flesh mixed with a base color.~Gary
