I'm in the process of painting a US Infantryman during Vietnam. He is wearing what looks to be the normal flak vest so he would be sleeveless. He will be painted in JS acrylic paints but I'm not sure what the colors would be in the JS line.
So now my questions for you guys will be the following:
1. The flak vest what color green would you use if he has been in the jungle for awhile?
2. Those colors also, I need the base, highlight and shadow color as well. Now once painted knowing a little about the area, you have that wonderful red clay, I was thinking of using pastels to simulate the reddish color wish would be on practically everything.
3. What would be the best way to simulate this type of weathering?

Your advice and opinions will be helpful.
Thank you

I know Mig products have a pigment in there range that will do the job just fine. I believe the name might even be Vietnam earth or something.

Cheers,

Gino

Chris, the flak vest does not have to mean the guy is in a sleeveless shirt. Lots of different geography there, different comfort levels.

Mark,
Yes! that's the vest. see what i mean about being sleeveless. Perfect.
Thanks a lot for the info.

Chris! As Steve has said! it was a personal thing! of what to wear under their 'Frag-Jacket',.. some guys wore long sleeve shirts, some guys T-Shirts, some guys nothing except this 'Frag-Jacket'. ;)
