Hi Folks,

This is my first finished item this year.
It’s an oldie 1/10 bust of Rameses II by Young Miniatures.
Paints are a mixture of enamels, oils, Scale 75 Artist acrylics and printers inks.
One thing I’ve noticed is that the blue cloak appears a lot lighter than it actually is.

I bought this one, together with Hector and Achilles, when I was finishing my Mohawk bust.

Both A & H are progressing slowly, but H’s armour is proving a bit of a sod to paint (to me anyway).

Cheers,
Andrew

P.S. I notice that I’m following in the wake of Graham’s (Macca G) excellent renditions of A & H.
No pressure then !!!

Hi Andrew

Great to see you've been busy , a nice sculpt although personally never been over keen on it but you've done a nice job on him, like the work on the headcloth and the flesh

Why not enter something in the class of your choice in FOTM , maybe also into the Vignette & Diorama comp , please take the time to consider and also do vote as well

Thanks for sharing

Look forward to the next thread

Happy benchtime

PS Look forward to your A & H

Good work Andrew!

Without taking away from your fine execution of this painting work, I wish a manufacturer (Young or other) will take advantage of the fact that we can actually and reliably reconstruct the way the real Ramesses II looked like, and produce a bust with those reconstructed features, in addition to the Yul Brynner based one, impressive as it is.

Cheers,

Benny

Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment Benny.
You're quite right in your comment regarding reconstruction.
As regards representing Yul Brynner, while the sculpt is almost right, I think the face is a tad too long.
But it was fun to paint.

Cheers,
Andrew
