Recast or not?

Can anyone tell me if this figure is a rercast? I don't recognize it as another company's figure but I don't want to unknowingly support a recaster.

Did you buy it from a Russian on eBay? That's not 100% certain, but it can be an indication that it might be a recast.

EK casting. They are extremely good value for money even at dealers. They always come as single piece too.

I just ordered 8 figures 2 days ago, to play with.

Where is EK castings located? Is it possible it is their store on ebay? Can the figures be ordered in the United States?

Judging by the prices I'm confident this is their Ebay store. I have a few painted figures in this range that I have bought from a guy in Israel. One or two of the figures I notice are from the Pegaso range so it looks as though they are not above adding someone elses product to their range, they may of course have permission to do so from Pegaso.
My advice is select carefully as some of the sculpts are better than others. The one you have chosen above should paint up nicely.

I had a look at that ebay shop. They have a lot of EK casting figures, but also alot of recasts of famous western figures. They are based in Moscow and based on the style of pictures and figures they offer it seems like it is a company called "Bastion", if so ( and I cant state for sure, but seems fairly certain that its Bastion) - then its a pirate company. It is possible that even those EK castings are recasts. I'd say ask them directly - would be interesting what they say.

at 9.99$ a piece they are making a kill - as original manufactures price is 5$ per figure. You will be better off dealing with EK casting directly and bite the bullet on postage of a large lump of metal.

At any rate you will be getting 5-8 good figures for a price of 1 excellent one

EK casting is a team of 2 people, both sculptors, they also cast and market and run the business themselves to deliver low price affordable miniature - thats why there is never parts to assemble - as it drives prices up.
