Some time back in one of the posts the topic of the soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines who guard the tomb of our unknown soldier came up. Who better than Alan Ball to sculpt it and Nick Majerus to paint it? Thanks guys! Great job! I really like the idea of the alternate heads also!!

All the best,
Dan

Thanks Dan, I have wanted to have this figure done for a very long time. I was never a Tomb Sentinel, but served with HHC 1st Bn 3rd Inf Rgt "The Old Guard" in 1963/64.

I think that Alan did a great job on the figure!

Nick - While I was an officer in USAF, one of my young airmen applied for and was eventually - after many interviews and demonstrations of his marching and security background checks - you name it and they did it to him - TWICE! - I was very pround to see him selected. Then they put him through training including being completely silent for some unreasonable extended time - I forget how long too many years back. Just thought those without military backgrounds would like to know something about the guard and how someone is selected for the special duty.

All the best,
Dan
