Good Day Fellow Planeteers;

I just have a few finishing touches to go on Pegaso's Renaissance Knight in 75mm, but I couldn't wait to photograph him. I didn't alter the figure at all, but I made the base out of plaster and the pillar is a wedding cake decoration I got for about $1.00. I really wanted to push myself over the top on this figure, and take my skills to a new level. I'll have to leave that assessment to your judgement, but any tips or criticisms you'd care to offer would really help.

Next up, I start working in 54 mm exclusively, beginning with Andrea's Cuirrasier Officer 1809.
Cheers everyone;
Glenn

Beautiful painting Glen. I have saved your photos to a file to use as reference for when I paint mine. Excellent work.

Glenn,
looks quite good from here! I honestly would like to see a shot from the rear to see more of that nice looking filigree work you did on the cape! (y)

Thank you all very much for your kind words. Sambaman, here is a rear view. I apologize for the poor quality of the photo, I think the pillar played havoc with the auto focus.

That's simply excellent Glenn. I was really curious to see someone painting this figure and how he would manage the cloak. You did very very good.

Awesome work on the cloak Glenn. I admire anyone who can do this kind of design work. I doubt that I can but will try.

Glenn,
I also have that figure in stock. He has to wait for a year or so because i really want to do justice on the figure. My skills are improving but they are not good enough for this figure.
Can you tell me how you did the patern in the cloak.
i find yours extremely well done.

Hi Glenn,

I don't know what you former level was, but I think you succeeded very well in your intentions. Top rate work, especially the cloak is wonderful (y) !

Best regards

Thanks again everyone. Marc, the pattern on the cloak was not as difficult as it might seem. I found some examples of renaissance patterns on "google" to act as a guide. I began by painting some vertical lines in white, which you may be able to see if you look carefully at the picture. These acted to divide the cloak into even sections, and helped to space out the other elements of the pattern. The pattern itelf is really just made up of heart shapes, with a few little additions here and there. The actual painting was accomplished using three things; Very small brushes, an "optivisor" magnifying eyepiece, and patience, patience and yet more patience(oops, I guess that's 6 things!) :)

Thats a really difficult figure to do and i think u have pulled it out nicely. I also guess u have been working many hours on this one cause , it can not be done in a nother way. The cloak work is very nice, the choice of reds also and of course ur metals. Good work my friend
