Thanks Carl,
The lilly pads are magic sculp Carl, and the flowers are made from plastic card and pink cord on a pin.

This is brilliant, what a unique piece. The water really catches my eye on how well it has been done. If I could maybe make one suggestion it would be some darker patches on his uniform from where the water has splashed up or where he has sweated. But even without them its still a fantastic piece to be proud of.

Thanks Taff, I've never photographed a figure and been completely happy with the results.
The wet uniform effect you mention is in fact very clearly seen on the figure if seen with the naked eye and something I paid some attention to as far a the right colours are concerned.
But unfortunately it hasn't come across in these pics, but neither have all the flaws

Christ sorry about that mate I didnt realise. What I have just noticed though is the arm hair which looks excellent.

It simply doesn't come across in these pics, that's all.....I'll see what others I have, maybe.

Nice work Mark really looks the part, and as mentioned the detail work ie arm hair etc is superb, although with all those water lilies I did rather expect a gnome and gold fish

Steve

A gnome!!?..:D:ROFLMAO:...jeez! mate I had considered a frog, but I've gotta say a gnome just hadn't crossed my mine. But then again I ain't never been knowm as someone who can pick an obvious opportunity to include a gnome.(y)

Holy B'Jesus!....I just feel as though I've missed a great opportunity here, Steve having neglected to include one of these zombie gnomes. Just don't know what the hell I was thinking.
I'm gonna have to think good and hard about my next project.

The contrast between the natural beauty of the lillies and the dirt and grime of the hard bitten vet is what first struck me. Effective piece.

Colin

Wonderful work Mark. You seem to make the whole scene come alive in such a small space. The soldier is great but your use of the lillies just sets it of nicely.

Don

Smashing job Mark...a really evocative piece and your lily pads really add to the 'feel'
I was a bit doubtful about the base but having looked at in several times...it really works (y)
Cheers
Derek
