WIP Critique Roman 90 mm (Pegaso Models)

Hi all

One of my projects that are on the way is this 90 mm Pegaso Models Roman.

Until now the WIP involves the scale armour and its leather edges which both are almost completely done. Fine tuning will consist of some glazing on well chosen areas. I hope that you will like my work so far but I will be thankful for all your comments of course.

How did you do them? Using the white metal as base coat?

Thanks all for the comments!

@ Adrian: an undercoat with brass acrylic paint from Vallejo. Then a basecoat of raw umber oil paint which was highlighted with yellow ochre and gold. Shading done with mars black.
After drying individual scale treated with burnt umber (oil), gold and silver (Humbrol). Glazing with dark purple and dark red oils which will be repeated again until I am satisfied..
