Absolutely beautiful painting, but just being a bit picky the sword is being worn on the wrong side. A fault, I must stress, of the manufacturer (Minormous, I believe) not the painter.

My own 200mm Centurion (https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/200mm-centurion.217871/) lacks the high quality of painting and sculpting as this, but does show how the gladius and pugio were worn.

It does indeed, Mike.
Of course errors will creep into figures and sometimes we have to expect a little artistic license. Sometimes too accuracy has to be sacrificed as part of the modelling/ sculpting/ casting process, but I feel it’s such a shame when manufacturers make unforced errors. It only takes a moment to do that final quick look of the many reliable sources or even a quick internet search.

I remember some years ago Nap undertook a survey of how important historical accuracy was to PF members. Well to me it’s important and I sympathise with members like, say, Yellowcat and Akarya and understand their frustration when they see glaring errors in their particular field of interest ………..my own bugbears are fantastical medieval armour/weapons and 1908/ 1937 pattern equipment .

I must stress none of this distracts from an absolutely sublime piece of painting.
