Hi all!
I've started to paint the Roman Mounted Praetorian (SR-19) by Soldiers.
This is definitely the best mounted Roman in 54mm, as far as I can judge.
The only problem with historical accuracy I saw was the bold design on the shield.
I considered 2 options for solving the problem: to change the shield with the flat one from another kit or to cover it with "leather cover" used by Romans to protect the shield on the march.
The second option was chosen and here is the result of my little conversion.
I used the lead foil, wire, milliput and acrylic paints.
I'll be grateful for any critical notes and advises concerning both the historical accuracy of the model and painting process.
Regards,
Galeamin
