Theodoros
A Fixture
The arrogant face of a distinguished roman signifer was my last painting task.
The resin bust, counts almost twenty years. It is an old Verlinden, but by far different from the usual Verlinden busts, rigid, moderate sculpted at that time (mid-90s).
Its size is ideal, setting up excellent with a slight tilt of the head that animates and a realistic veteran attitude.
Of course, the quality of the fur of the bear is inferior to those recently have seen (from Young etc.). But painting with meticulous and careful observation of the shaded and bright points, I think we can correct it without much difficulty.
In order to highlight the closed face, I preferred to paint with strong contrasts, to "pull" it out thereby.
As always, it is painted with oil painting over enamel base coat, while the main dark areas originally painted with black acrylic using airbrush to enforce them.
Any comment is very welcome.
