Hi all

Work is dragging on on this one but I have made some progress. The main component is nearing completion now (finally!) but there is still a bit more work to to on the toes, greaves and sandals.

Soon work will start on the helmet plume, the sword and - la pièce de résistence - the shield, for which I have found a nice design.

Many thanks for the comments made.

Rob, the bronze armour was done as follows:
  1. Acrylic undercoat with Vallejo's brass (MC70801).
  2. Basecoating with slightly thinned raw umber oil paint which is stippled with a stiff haired brush after half an hour. In the process most of the oil paint will be removed again.
  3. Applying the highlights with yellow ochre - blending.
  4. Applying the first shades with burnt umber - blending.
  5. Applying the second highlights with gold - blending.
  6. Applying of the deeper shades with burnt umber + a little bit of ivory black - blending.
  7. Drying of paint.
  8. Applying of extra shades and highlights with glazes of the previous used colours. For the extreem lights I mix a bit of Humbrol's silver with the gold oil paint.
  9. Drying of paint (at least a week!).
  10. Applying a well thinned finishing coat with Humbrol's satin varnish.
I hope this will be of any help to you.

Cheers

J;)han
