I just got the latest news from Andrea and their new release is one that I have been looking forward to however I am probably going to give it a miss to be honest.
I have loved and admired Andrea figures since I got into Figure modelling and in the past I have marveled at their sculptors with likenesses in 54mm of Sean Connery, Russell Crowe, Leonard Nimoy et al...and historic figures - T.E. Lawrence is superb.
So I was looking forward to Rommel - possibly the most charming of the German Generals -certainly one of the most successful.
Is it me? Am I the only one? but the likeness is not at all Rommel? In my opinion the figure looks more like Vogel in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade. Rommel has distinct looks and I feel that Andrea have not done justice to the features. The rest of the figure looks superb - the pose is great and typical of Rommel - relaxed yet very much the Field Marshal.
