Well hi guys
It's been a long time since I have been able to get back into the modling painting ,however things more settled and really looking forward to things ahead .
I purchased from MMM the Rooster C bust great value I feel at £30 moulding was great bit of cleaning work but all doable although the large lugs are a process, great sculpt from Carl Ried .
I started the painting process and looked at smudges work on it which was inspiring ,I knew I had a horses head so I contacted Jim AKA Jimbo and asked him what he thought .
I must add not sure if you know but Jimbo has been suffering with a massive back problem, he goes in Thursday for major back surgery taking place on Friday ,so I am sure you will all join me in wishing Jimbo our best wishes and a speedy recovery .
Jim as usual threw himself into the horse head addition with his normal wonderful enthusiasm and for some one who can at present hardly walk and is in constant pain he is a Diamond
I am going to post some pics as to how it progressed and will then post pics as the painting develops I will be using a base from "Petes Bases" which I feel will really set the bust off , you can obtain the bases from ,

I really can't thank Jim enough for thinking outside the box with regard this
Hope you like the progress so far
Cheers Chris

Nice to see you again Chris, great start on this piece (y)

Be sure to pass on my best wishes if you see Jimbo :)

That looks like a very good start.
What a superb addition by Jim.
I was aware of Jim's back problem and that he was waiting for a date for the operation. It's therefore great to hear that things have moved forward.
Please pass my best wishes to Jim if/when you see him.

Cheers,
Andrew

Hi Chris,
Nice to see you returning to the bench again and what a return.(y) The addition of the horses head and the complimenting base is a true match and looks superb.
cheers
Richie

Thanks for all the good wishes guys, very much appreciated, I've taken a massive knock over the past 5 months & I'll be out of things for a little while but I'll be back at the bench asap,
I must admit when Chris come up with this idea of adding a horses head & laid down the gauntlet,
I had to give it a go, it was something I had been wondering about if it was possible to achieve for some of those wonderful sculpts out there involving an "invisible horse", Anyway I think this will work and I'm looking forward to seeing Chris get the paint on him in his own style of application,
Good to see Chris back again swirling them thar brushes around(y)
Cheers
Jim
