Acrylics Round Iris for eyes

Hi guys,

Tonight was my first attempt at painting eyes, boy I've been humbled, haha.

Its a 75mm and another 90mm that I'm working on. And with both I had problems getting a nice round iris for the eye. What tools do you guys use to get a nice clean round iris ?

I've done countless research on painting eyes, but if anyone has tips from their own experiences it would be greatly appreciated.

What tools do you guys use to get a nice clean round iris ?

Hate to say it but it's mostly what you might be expecting - practice.

It's tough to paint them to look neat, circular and for both eyes to match but it does get easier the more you do it. Rather than just use your figures as the only practice canvas it is worth painting some test circles to the same size on something flat like a scrap of primed plastic card.
