Hi to all figure artists here !

I would like to introduce my second ever 1/16th scale figure here(current wip) for help and critique...I have studied the work on here for years and decided now i need help to move me forward and join,my motivation is so high from the level of artists on here. I do mainly 1/35th but after seein gothicgeeks 1/16th figure of late got me fired up ! I use oils over enamels and acrylics, wet on wet and wet on dry.I have tried, but fail to grasp the concept of acrylic painting only ! I apolagise for the poor pictures in advance, but hope you can get the idea of my painting and help me to improve, all critique and help most welcome !

Many thx.

Hi Carl :)

your work looks good and the face looks well shaded and neat.

you might want to exagerate the beard area a little, likewise some reds on cheeks and nose.

keep us posted

:)

Mark

Hi Mark,
Im a big fan of your work, thanks for takeing a look ! i agree the beard needs a little more, and also the cheeks and nose area... it doesnt look so washed out in real life I think it is the poor picture quality maybe.

Thanks for the encouragement Theodoros and Pedro ! I never knew if I was on the right lines or not,i never really enter comps and got taught what bit i know by Derek Holmes who is sadly no longer with us... so its nice for some feedback !

Will post some more pictures tomorrow when ive updated the face.

Hi couple more updates, added slightly redder shadeing to cheeks and side of nose, finished the helmet,I wanted a solid thick coat of white with slight wear,I concentrated on the texture of the helmet as I wanted a rough appearence visible to the eye, this was done by stippleing various shades of white oilpaint from the tube and letting each layer dry befor the next...titanium white neat like this takes forever to dry ! also started belt and sidearm and the bino's...again sorry for the below par pictures but hope you can get the idea.

Thanks George !
