Dear Planeteers,
My latest project, a bust by a small Russian company called Concept Art Miniatures, provided my with an opportunity to paint both, a very unusual subject and some bold and vibrant colors. This bust in 1:9 scale is called Sadhu, i.e. a holy person in Hinduism. I loved the scuplt and the little monkey on his shoulder was just fun to paint.
I hope you like the little ape and his holy man. Merry Christmas to everyone.

Excellent result on this attractive bust Sven. It is often difficult to render animals (other than horses) convincingly, but you've hit the spot with the little monkey for sure. Nice work!

Hi Nap,
thank you for taking the time to watch my thread. Glad you like my Sadhu.
I used Vallejo paints for the skin tones, both the "Fairy Flesh Set" and the "Malefic Flesh Set". For this particular piece, I also added some Andrea dark brown to the mix.
