Saladin (Nuts Planet) completes my efforts for 2017.
Painting was mainly oils over enamels and printers ink/oil mixes for the metals, apart from the helmet itself. This was completed using Darkstar Molten Metals.
Hope you like him.

Great work mate. I was only watching the directors cut of this movie last night.

Class brush skills Andrew.
Keith

Thanks for your kind comment Keith.
The sculpting and detailing on this bust is so good that it seems to guide the brush.

Thanks for taking the time to look and comment Mobo.

Great work mate. I was only watching the directors cut of this movie last night.

Pleased you liked him Graham.
I've watched the film a couple of times myself, and find all Ridley Scott's films are fun to watch again.

Andrew

Very nice paintwork Andrew:).

Thanks for the kind comment Ralph.

Saw this at BC, excellent painting Andrew of a very nice bust.

I don't think you can be referring to Saladin Bob. I only stuck him on the base a couple of days ago.
Totally agree with you about the quality of the bust.
Glad you liked him. It took a while, but was great fun to paint.

Very good brushwork.

Thanks for the kind comment Marc.

Nice work, specially like the chainmail

Thank you for the kind comment Fernando.
The chainmail was first painted with a mix of silver printers ink (El Greco) and Cobalt Blue & Lamp Black oil paints for a general steel colour. Once dry, I gave it a wash of Van Dyke Brown oil to give depth; and a further darkening with VDB in the folds. Highlights were dry-brushed with a more silvery version of the original mix.

Cheers,
Andrew
