Hi

Just finished this Samnite bust from Romeo. It fought me all the way! Poor quality mouldings and badly fitting parts but I'm happy how he has turned out. I'm experimenting more with natural materials so I discarded the over heavy crest and plume and replaced it with a scratchbuilt one including natural hair. Painted in acrylics with oils for the flesh. Base from Richard at Oakwood and plate from name it. I have also posted him on FOTM.

Cheers

You are happy with the result and rightly so.A beautiful outcome indeed.

Oda.

Cheers Kev

Yes I will take him and a couple of his mates for a short seaside holiday. Not long now, looking forward to it more than usual this year, I'm hoping it's a return to the glory days in terms of atmosphere given all the work the new team have put into it.

See you there.

Cheers

All thanks for your kind comments

Francesco

I assume it is meant to depict a catfish (gatto) as I know they live in your region? I found it in on old reference.

Cheers

Hi Neil
you are right. My comment was only due to the use in acient time to represent in a "monster" way the animals they met perhaps daily (i.e. octopus etc..) .
Let me say once more my warm congrats for your work.

Outstanding work, the alteration in the helmet is excellent and the work in the shield exceptional!
The shield drawing lines are amazing also!
Congratulations!!!
