Hi Folks,
A little while ago I was lucky enough to be able to buy three un-started (still in box) figures for an incredibly low price.
One of them was a 90mm Barton Miniatures Saxon (white metal), which I was aware had existed, but had never seen a photo of one.
I’ve made a start at cleaning up the mould lines and fixing of pins for the various parts.
Here’s a photo of the various bits and the instructions that came with the kit.
Compared to modern resin figures it’s not as detailed, but I’m a ‘dinosaur’ and like the old figures that I couldn’t justify the expense in my earlier days.
I’ve glued the shield arm to the shield and fixed the pouch in place, and attempted a loose fit to see how he’s going to look (the pencil is simply there to keep the shield arm from rotating).
I’ll be able to apply the recently posted detailing of jacks and their light colour in the recesses to this one, once I get round to painting.
Now it’s back to checking for mould lines that I haven’t completely removed, and preparing the terrain on which he will stand.
Cheers,
Andrew
P.S. The other two figures that I got with this one were the 70mm Poste Militaire Conquistador and Galloglass (both white metal).
