Hi all,
I'm a fairly experienced scale modeller in Aircraft, AFV and Warships. Anyone familiar with Britmodeller, can find me there (extensively) with the same handle!
During a recent sort through of quite a huge stash, I came across some old figures (kits and casting) that originate from many years back and which has re-ignited some interest in having a go at some of these again. Surprised to find five unmade Historex mounted figures, some resin WWII Verlinden, various white metal 54mm subjects (WWII, Napoleonic and more ancient) plus a 120mm, a 100mm and a 75mm figure, so plenty of choice! When I've finished off a couple of existing aircraft build projects, I plan to start on a figure ..... or maybe two!
I live in deepest Dorset, and am a member of both Poole Vikings and Poole Scale Modelers, so likely know one or two of you folks.
I'll post something as soon as I can muster up some courage to do so!
Terry

Hi Terry

A BIG ŴELCOME to PF

A good probability you've seen me at the Poole model show

PF is for all figures with or without additions like planes/AFV etc

Great to have you with us ....share the PF word , all are very welcome to join ..no matter what's modelled with figures

Do ask any questions someone will know...feel free to message me with questions

Lots of different sections to look at including traditional and 3 D sculpting , competitions , WIP's , References , Painting techniques and so much more

There are threads in Welcome Aboard about how to do things including posting pics on PF but do contact me always happy to help

We have a Marketplace where after members have contributed 50+ posts can use to sell , request if anyone has a model to sell etc

We have V Bench for WIP's and also a Completed part ,reference section

There's also Painting techniques where you will find much about Acrylics and Oils

ALL figures are welcome and of course Vignettes & Diorama ( we run friendly competitions if you wish as well , one called FOTM where there are 3 classes to choose in which to enter )

Look forward to seeing your modelling no matter what you paint ..its all about having fun

Happy bench-time

Thanks Nap, lots of helpful pointers and I will definately be seeking lots of advice and guidance from you and everyone here! I'm sure we have met before, and reckon we will for sure this year as the shows start to open up.

Welcome Terry.
Cheers
Steve

Thank you Steve!

I'm busy having a good look around here, and also contemplating which of the figures I have "in stock" to start with. Napoleonics have always been a favourite, as well as British Army pre 1900's, plus most nationalities WWII.

Thanks again each.

Terry

Welcome to the Planet, Terry! There are several of us here who are also scale modelers, too, including me. I grew up on Monogram and Revell (pre-merger), and Airfix, and other classic makers. It was the kit figures that gave me exposure to painting figures. I look forward to seeing your work, whether figures or ordnance!

Prost!
Brad
