Hi all,
I started my first sculpt almost 2 years ago, but due to moving apartments and a heavy course load was unable to work on it for the past year and a half. Anyway I'm graduated and have more space and have picked up where I left off. I am sculpting a roman legionary, and have picked up sculpting organic elements with some success, I have his body, head and most clothing done. However I am having difficulty with hard edged objects (sword, scabbard ect), and symmetrical objects like the helmet. Does anyone have advise or know where I can find some articles/step by steps on this subject? Thanks alot for any help!

HI Nick,

I have a book "Modelling Weapons & Accessories for Military Miniatures" by Kim Jones, published by Schiffer. He uses Plastic to create Guns, Sabres, Drums etc, if you can find a copy it is a useful guide.
If you are in the UK and can't find a copy PM me..................Keith

Thanks guys! I will look into getting that book. Keith I am in the US and it looks like the US amazon does have a a limited number of copies and the schiffer website still sells it too. That looks like it will help with weapons, but the round helmet still poses a problem for me. I have gotten a basic dome by making a rough hemisphere of magic sculpt and then sanding it to shape after to get a round helmet now I will try adding the detail with plastic or more clay
