Search for the member whose gallery you wish to view.
Go to their profile page, and click on galleries....
That's how to do it, now. But Rick raises a good point-there is no feature in the Galleries section to search for a specific gallery. There should be.
I work in software development. This is what we would call an enhancement request, a request for a feature or functionality that doesn't currently exist, but that customers would like to see.
I would write a user story, as it's called, to describe the requested feature, something like this:
"As a member of PlanetFigure who likes to view members' galleries, I would like to be able to search for a specific member's gallery from the Galleries area, so I can find it in the fewest clicks possible."
And then it'd list out acceptance criteria, that we'd use when we build and test the feature and make sure we're following the story:
"When on the Galleries page,
https://www.planetfigure.com/useralbums/, the application presents a search feature
Searching on a member's name returns the main page of his gallery
if there is no gallery, indicate this to the user"
High-altitude detail, leaving things like the actual code, tools, etc to use to the developers.
Of course, the story undergoes review to decide if it's something we can do. Maybe it doesn't fit in with the current design of the application, for example. Otherwise, we plan when we want to add it.
Now, that's in a commercial organization. In our case, with an all-volunteer organization maintaining the site, that's another factor to consider, the developer's uncompensated time. Maybe the forum's software includes such a feature, maybe not. Maybe it's a lot of effort to implement it, maybe it's relatively easy. Factors like those all get considered
So, there's a little look into my world as a quality assurance analyst and business analyst.
Anyway, it
would be a nice feature to have, if it's possible to do, all things considered.
Prost!
