Second figure finished

Hi,
I finally finished my second figure. He's a Roman Decurion, painted with a mixture of Acrylic and enamels, using Tamiya gun metal for the chain mail. I painted this one differently to the first and tried to take on board some of the very helpful comments I was given on my first figure.

I have to say I really enjoyed this one, and am really enjoying trying to master a new discipline.

Apologies for the quality of the photo's - I did my best with them.

I should have said, I drew the shield design in autocad and then created a decal. Once that was applied iwent over it with turps to help it blend right in

You are very precise in your painting. Clean work and a presentable result.

For the next one I'd suggest to go bolder on the contrast, particularly on the skin. Getting nice transitions is a challenge, but once you master that the sky is the limit!

Cool work on the decal. You can print white??

I'd say you are definitely on the right track. I second what Adrian says about pushing the contrast. Also the eyes need a bit of work, these are a bit too large and "staring". But great work for only your second figure. And as others have commented, the shield design is tremendous.

Thanks for the positive comments, the white on the decal is actually clear, but dries white as long as you dont gloss varnish.
