The addition of the second piece really transforms this kit and provides more context. Perhaps some variation in the helmet types would be welcome as the 'spectacles' type of helmet are believed to have been associated with high rank and yet, every Viking figure in kit form seems to have this impressive looking helmet. Maybe a simple conical helmet of the type more commonly in use would be a welcome addition as an option?

Great figures and print/cast quality though.

Very nice figures individually but for me this doesn't work at all as a two-figure vignette.

Why? Well we've got Viking No. 1 hopping quite calmly off the longship, his shield slung casually on his back - while right in front of him we've got Viking no. 2 deploying his shield to fend off a storm of incoming arrows that Viking no. 1 following closely behind appears to be blissfully unaware of.

In fairness, I would imagine the chap on the ship probably need one free hand to jump off and land, trying to jump with both hands full would be tricky. Secondly, it may be an ambush, in which case he hasn't reacted. I would guess if you wanted, you could leave the arrows out and just have a landing party. I may well do this, as arrows never seem to be quite in scale due to moulding/casting limitations.

I'm no expert in this period but can find no problem with the look, sculpting and posing. I do agree with Steve and Gary though that having the two figures dressed so uniformly together with the same axe is off putting. As Gary suggested, full armour and helmet would probably only utilised by the elite. Maybe a couple more figures in fabric tunics and without cloaks. The more adept of us could then convert the set by "swapping out heads, shields and weaponry.
All the same, as single figures go, in isolation; Superb.

Arrived today, as usual very well packaged and a lovely sculpt. Even the arrows are in scale, which is unusual given the moulding limitations of convential sculpts, another advantage of 3d printing.
