Just wondering if anyone out there has a large lump of white metal going under the name of Franz Doring, gathering dust and in doubt if it will ever see the modelling bench.
I was always a fan of Series 77 figures and wanted this particular figure from the day and hour that it appeared on the cover of Military Modelling many many moons ago and since my return to the hobby I have been keeping an eye out for the figure in order to build and paint it.
Ebay sent me an email as one has come up but the seller is in the USA and only posts locally so I thought that I would put the feelers out in the UK to see if there might be one at a reasonable price, I would possibly consider one that has been started and ditched providing its all there.
Postage would be to Northern Ireland

Hi Richard thanks for the reply Franz Doring has become a quest, my normal thing is Ancient/Medieval but always wanted a Landsknect in the cabinet and Franz is the ultimate at 154mm, its one of those things were you are quietly creeping around Ebay etc hoping that one will pop up and bingo the guy in the states has 3 but wont do shipping outside USA, not to mention it would be a heavy git and postage could cost not to mention customs at Royal Mail if applicable.

Would a PF member in the US be prepared to buy it for you and then send to you? There's some good guys on here, might be worth asking.

Hi Neil I seen helms post about the Falklands figure containing the picture of Franz Doring and that prompted me to put my post on PF to see if anybody had one that they were willing to part with but although the PF members have pointed me in the direction of available figures I have been unsuccessful due to owners not wanting to deal with a UK buyer.
I know that some PF members in UK have the kit but I wouldn't want to cry the figure off them, however hopefully one of my fellow countrymen will answer my call somewhere down the line.

Yes, fine.... but I see Yellowcat has found one... BoL

Otherwise, I think someone else mentioned getting someone in the seller's country to buy on your behalf then mail it?

Or find a UK based US service-person... they wouldn't dare deny posting to them!
