hello
this is an verlinden bust which looks very like sean bean.
i painted it and for me it does look not so bad-my main problem is that i can not create this clean subtle painting style.if i try then i end up with nearly no contrast.so i decided to be more bold.
as is said not in the liga of award winning.but its fun anyway.
cheers

and here
the great young bust
well i might not have done it full justice.i decided to paint on the deathhead of the stormtroopers.which was carried on the left lower sleeve.
because those troops had elite character they might have done such things.
i have seen finn troopers in ww2 which had on their helmets skully painted
so why not
i added an iron cross second class to get some more veteran look.

Hi Markus,

Don't be too hard on yourself mate. Both busts are very promising and show promise. The important thing is to continue practicing your skills, keep asking questions and enjoy your hobby. Improvement comes with practice and experimentation. Trying new things teaches you to learn from your failures as much as your successes.

dear tony
as you said.it fun.of course i have my moments when i think why can i not paint in this delicate style.
well not all can be such talented artists.and sculpting and painting figures is in my eyes nothing less than art.
and because its not to much sense to lament about such things,i enjoy my humble results and like to improve myself in this nice hobby.
i am now begun to piant with acrylics mainly the revell ones which i find quite good.
earlier when i has finished an figure i was quite happy with it but after some days when the first euphorism had ended i was again unsatisfied with it.
now i can look at them after weeks and i do like what i did.
so step by step iam coming to an point where i can live with them.
its fun and i like doing it.
and thats what the whole thing is about.i am happy and very relaxed during my painting sessions.
at least one should be able to judge his own work in regards to others, then one sees the thing very relaxed.
happy painting

The Young bust definitely looks the better one of the two, you did a very good job on this one, nice touch with the helmet badge, something not seen before.

As long as you are having fun that is what counts the most
