Here's another one folks. Another one of Nuts Planets excellent 'snap together' pieces.
Can't even remember doing any cleaning up.

Used a lot of natural inks on the bear fur. Mainly walnut ink which my missus makes for her calligraphy. That being said I can't say it was one of my most enjoyable pieces, just way too much fur and hair. Quite pleased with the end result though.

The shield design was based on images of Odins Ravens, everything was painted in oils, inks and Dark Star Metals.
Mounted on one of Ron T's beautifully finished bases.
Main source of reference ;) Oldest son somewhere between New Zealand and Borneo.

No clean up....that explains the bloody great mould line round his neck then.....oops!....sorry....it's a necklace :p:LOL:

Nice work mate....grim looking bugger :wideyed:

Is that a real live native of the clan

That's a fantastic bear-headed warrior.
The detailing of the shield is superb.

Cheers,
Andrew

I have just seen a cheeseburger pastie........why eould you even think to do that?
That's in Liverpool BTW.

Paul

That reminds me of many years ago in Newcastle. Joy and I had just walked up Northumberland Street and were crossing the Haymarket when I spotted a new sign in the pastie shop window across the way. It said 'NEW .... Vegetarian Pasties'. I looked at Joy and asked "I wonder what Vegetarians taste like?"

Cheers,
Andrew

Thanks so much guys. Not my best work by a long way there was just way too much fur and hair to hold my attention.
Don't take that as a criticism of the bust just my ever shortening concentration threshold.
I've got one more finished viking bust to post and then one more 70mm full viking figure to complete ......... then it's a break from the norsemen for the rest of the year :stop:

Yeah that's the oldest boy. He's based in Wellington NZ. This photo was taken a few weeks ago, he doesn't specify where he is as his mother flips her lid when she can't see streetlights in the background.

Anybody seen Tubby-Nuts?

Great work Del.

I'm with Bob on this. Eyes and shield truly stand out. As for the shield, its not boring simple nor overly complicated. Just right. (y)

Joe

Cheers Joe. There's a lot more colours going on in the fur than comes out in the photos but when all is said and done it's still brown so it's important to do a bit of work on the eyes and shield.
