Hello all,

Here is my latest project

gine-1-1.jpg

It will be a figure vignette in 1/35 scale, based on the french comic character Neige (or Snow in english, Sneeuw in dutch) written and drawn by Gine and Convard. This will be my miniature interpretation of this character and his “world”.

Materials used are:

Helo miniatures pelvis and torso
Hornet Heads
Dragon and Historex hands and Dragon shoes (as a base for the boots)
Plasticcard
Magic Sculpt
Duro
Procreate

Sneeuw

This one is for 99 procent done for sculpting. Some minor work on his sword scabbard and later in the painting progress i will finish his bandana.

The angel statue

I am still busy with sculpting his wings, wich is a tedious and time consuming job.
The wings are sculpted seperate from the figure. Next will be a base made from plaster for the statue to rest on.

“Trace” the dog

The dog started his life as a Tamiya german sheperd from the farm animals set. It is in progress to be converted as Trace, Sneeuw’s guardian dog.

The crow.

Crows are pretty much present in the comic, so i want one in the vignette. It started his life as a Tamiya chicken and will be heavily converted. Much work to be done on this one

This is all the progress so far. It is a bit an ambitious project and progress is pretty slow trough a big “home improvement” project.

All the best,
Robert Jan

Impressive

nice to see something like this bought to life.

Add you have added a custom dog and a crow; not many of us would be brave enough to tackle that.

Applauds your efforts.

Seeing stuff like this only encourages me to get my ass back to the workbench, quietly inspired.

thanks for sharing, looking forward to more!!

Cheers

Hello all,

Jamie:Thanks!

I took some pictures of the basic lay out with the figures on it.
The base is made by Eric Jacobs of Jade Bases. It is still in his primer. I will paint the base and sides of the AB groundwork the same, for a better appearance.
The groundwork is made of AB putty and the stones and statue column are made of plaster with an AB putty plate on top of it.
I decided to change the tilt of the dog’s head. The interaction is better now.
After painting all the elements, the base will be completely covered with snow.
I like to hear how you guys think of it.

So far, its coming together!

Figures seem balanced, natural and anatomically corect.

Layout of vignette is balanced, and leads the eye to the focus figure.

Layout is free of clutter and distractions

Dog looks natural - not easy to get hounds right, given the natural diversity of dog shapes!

Seems you have captured the basics, then mastered them.

Cheers

Hello all,

The sculpting of the angel statue is finished. The wings were done in Duro on plasticcard. I drilled some holes in the back of the figure and the wings and attached them with copper wire and superglue.
I stippled the statue with plaster to give it an old, weathered look.
It does not have a tight fit so there is some space between the statue and the column but that won’t be seen because it will be covered with snow.
