This is one of the latest offerings from Soldier Of Fortune. German Wehrmacht Officer cast in seven white metal parts and two base sections the scale is 75mm.

All parts are packed in a sturdy cardboard box with and an outer sleeve to hold the box together. The box sleeve has some very attractive art work and there is also a full colour painting guide included with the kit. All parts are sandwiched between two layers of foam. An inspection of all parts show a good level of detail and very clean cast.

The base for the figure is made up of two parts.

The legs of the figure are in two sections, there is a depression and matching locating point to match the two halves up, the fitting was very good with no evidence of any filler needed.

Here we can see how well the legs fit into the supplied base.

img6.jpg

A close inspection of the upper part of the torso shows all the excellent detail that has been sculpted into the parts.

img7.jpg

Test fitting of the body parts shows a good fit with all parts keying together nicely. Close inspection shows no gaps between the parts.

img8.jpg

The head of the figure can be seen with a nicely sculpted face.

img9.jpg

Test fitting of the head shows a good fit into the socket at the top of the main torso, its really starts to come together at this point.

img10.jpg

Here we have the arm with the right hand holding a pair of binoculars.

img11.jpg

Test fitting of the arms shows an excellent fit with a keying in system to give it a perfect fit.

The gun holster locates into the hole at the top of the left leg.

Conclusion:
A very well cast kit with good level of detail. Very minimal cleanup and good fitting of all parts. Being 75mm it is unusual to find WW2 German figures of this scale and is a nice scale to work in. Highly recommended for anyone interested in WW2 German figures.

Please, don't be angry with me - but the cast I can see in the photos does not look very good.

The surface - especially the face - seems very rough, with large pores and unstructured.

Regards

The parts are fine, the photos are enlargements that show the parts at a larger size that what they appear to the eye.

I tend to agree here with Martin, but in close up this can be the case. Needle
files and wire wool can better the process if necessary - its up to the painter.
Like the pose very much and would definitely look at getting.

Thats a great looking figure. Not my favorite periode, but the figure looks good.
The dark and light spots are from bumping to eachother, and handling the figure for the pictures.
If it's cleaned it looks all the way the same.
Thanks for the revieuw Tommi.

A good cleaning solve the problem I think.
The binoculars seems out of scale, but the pose are great.(y)

When I return home tonight I will photograph the head again along side a couple of other heads from some well known manufactures so you can compare and see if there is any difference.

Soldier of Fortune figures in the US?

I'd really like to get ahold of this figure, but cannot locate a US vendor.
Anybody know one I'm missing?

Thanks,
Steve
