Imagine sitting comfortably on the 4th floor with breakfast coffee, accidentally looking out the window and seeing THIS HERE ...:

A rather big black cat is walking by in the gutter ...:

However, no cat, but a full-grown black panther!

And because the kitchen window is open next door, he comes without many circumstances in for a visit ...:

This happened yesterday in the small town of Armentières in the Département Nord in France on the Belgian border.

The cat has not caused mischief, because a veterinarian put him into a deep sleep with a stunning gun ...

Hi Martin

I woukd have choked on my coffee !!!!

Where do they think it came from ? ........a wildlife park ? ........or is it photoshopped ??

Good grief ......a panther as a pet !!

Not something you see everyday for sure !.....

Would have thought something like this is better in a wildlife park etc though !

When I was a little boy, a drugstore owner living in the neighborhood with us kept a full-grown cheetah as a pet.

In summer he was always lying in his garden in a deck chair - and the cheetah beside him.

We children went there every day flattened our noses on the garden fence...

Aren't there some big cats running free on Britain, erstwhile pets that escaped or were otherwise released? I've seen stories about them occasionally.

Prost!

There was a craze some years ago for catlovers to go for Maine Coon cats, which can grow to over a metre in length and around 20" at the shoulder. A couple of years ago, I was out in the Suffolk fields here with the Border Terrier I walk for a neighbour, when I spotted a large feline along a distant hedgerow. So did the dog, and hared off after it, despite my recalling him. He soon came belting back, but the 'cat' vanished. On investigation, I spotted a large pawprint in the soft earth, no other sighting. It wasn't black, as so many of these sightings are, being more of a mixed grey and tabby colour. I reckon it was probably some stray Maine Coon. Never seen it since.
Apparently, they are VERY expensive.
