Somewhat odd question

Anybody have the foggiest what colour the WWII R.N.'s famous cocoa would have been? Is it the same as today's or was it different ? I'm about to sling some paint at Steve Leadley/MMM's R.N. Captain but it just occurred to me about the colour of it
