This is the next figure and scene from my range. The figure is a little bit greater (62mm until the eyes) but the trench scene fit together very well with 54 mm figures. Sculptor and painter is Werner Leiss

You can get the soldier alone with two separates grenades and a Grabendolch. You can get the trench scene alone or figure and trench scene both together

You can find them in my shop http://www.sockelandbases.de/shopneu/index.php?language=en&cPath=34_51

Thanks for looking.

I remember the seeing Koribanics piece; "Knee deep in hell" I believe it was called.

I have never seen those photos before and I think you all are right. I will add in my shop "After a figure from Andrei Koribanics". It is correct that the piece from Koribanics was a one-off? And someone know when he makes it? Thanks

That's an Awesome figure vignette, Ulrich (y)(y)(y)(y)(y)! I have already sent in my online order for it .
Cheers!
Kenneth.

Right you are Mike. "Eye deep in hell" is the title. I agree with your assessment. It is one of Koribanic's best works, if not his very best work.

As far as I know the vignette "Eye deep in hell" was displayed at the World Expo 1993 and quite well covered in model publications - among them "Battle Honours" by Bill Horan and Phil Kessling.
The pose was later copied more or less skillfully by other sculptors among them for example this one:

Your sculptor obviously used the work of Mr Koribanics as a template. Didn`t he tell you about it:wideyed:? It`s nice that you react and mention the creator of the original piece.
Cheers, Martin
