Dear friends,
This is my last work. A standard bearer from the Light Infantry battalion “Voluntarios de Aragón”, from the Spanish army during the Peninsular War. This battalion stood out in the defense of Zaragoza during its two sieges by the Napoleonic troops.
The figure is marterfully sculped by A. Zapatero for the “Agrupacion Artistica Aragonesa”.
I painted it totally in acrylics. I struggled specially with the flag and with the dark blue jacket. It is very easy to burn out the lights.
I attach as well a picture of a reenactor that I found on the net in which a presume the figure is based on.
