I am currently trying to paint the EVD Hussar pictured Below. I have spent more time trying to find a reference to this uniform than I ever will painting it. In sheer desperation I am asking for help. The colours shown are difficult to gauge. Is it a yellow jacket? Light Brown trousers? the difficulty comes when artistic licence is employed in painting the box art and no references are provided. This is supposed to represent a famous figure and although he died in poverty his military record was outstanding. However the regiment didn't appear to wear these colours.....so where did they come from?
I have a huge file of Spanish Uniform Plates but nothing remotely like this and searching forums and Pintrest has drawn a blank.

Can anyone help....Edorta where are you....LOL

I have a book about the Spanish husares in the Napoleonic war and I can assure that both hussars of Castile and hussars of Burgos shared colors.
After the campaign the regiment was transformed and became the Regiment of the King about 1813.
Suede and dolman pants in yellow or green if you are an elite officer.
Santi.
