A 'stalker of Chernobyl' diorama I made last year.

I loved the pc game STALKER when it came out. Some moons ago!
When I seen this fig I knew I had to make something work.
So much i bought two of him lol.
The fig is from Evolution miniatures- 1:35.

Everything is scratch built.
The duck rocker was sculpted with milliput. The roundabout ride is just a piece of plastic rubbish I found at work.

The elephant is all styrene. Which is a real kids swing park ride. They were pretty popular back then in that part of the world. Reference photo there.
Measures 12x9 inches.

I had a great time putting this together. As much fun as it looks!
One of my best pieces so far I hope you enjoy!

Ooh, I enjoy very much! Love the atmosphere you created here and the groundwork is superb. The rusted play equipment is fantastic. You should definitely be very proud of this one.

that is looking very beautiful and all the weathering you have done make it's complete;
I think it was a lot of work, great done (y)

Lovely one, well harrowing but you know what I mean, really let's you get creative with the dilapidated state of the ground work.

Cheers Simon

Thanks one and all for the comments. As always, very much appreciated.

I know what you mean Briggsy. Harrowing is a good way to put it
And yeah I've always been 'attracted' to abandoned, aged forgotten stuff. It is a 'thing' I believe. I'm not alone lol.
But yeah exactly, let's you get creative and really go for it and push it as far as you want.

Cheers!

It really is a "thing". There has been a huge proliferation of rusty tractors in club displays in the last couple of years. Something you would never have seen a few years back!

I started getting the Fantasy model International when it first came out, not a month went by without something along these lines. Sort of casts a pessimistic view on the future, well that's for the younger ones to deal with!

I too concur with your view, disturbingly it may be a possible future if we're not sensible.....Enough of the gloom ;) . It is an interesting take and a well executed piece none the less

Yeah for whatever reason some people are extra drawn to things that heavily worn down, abandoned, forgot about and reclaimed by nature.
You find it as a sub genre of photography too.

Like if i had a choice to go to a classic car event with shiny perfect cars or a walk around and old abandoned junkyard reclaimed by nature? I know what I would choose!
And when it comes to models weathering is pretty easy on the scale of things.
I dunno it's just 'cool'.

Obviously the Chernobyl event wasn't 'cool' I want to stress that. But there's no doubt it's left a curious legacy.

The apocalyptic world's etc are interesting.
Madmax is a good example. Or Fallout games. But just from afar.

It certainly does that mate. And as above,.. I hope it all remains in fantasy land.

Thanks Melanie. Much appreciated :)

Incredibly well executed - with such detail and "feel". I could enjoy looking at your vignette for ages.
Cheers,
Gary
