Is it advisable to store Vallejo and other dropper bottle type paints on their sides at an angle. I just got a free paint rack from the store but the slots are too wide for the bottle to stay upright so I would have to put them on their sides.

I have some lovely dusty vintage Vallejo's I've put aside that have been maturing nicely now for some years. I'm just waiting for that special kit so I can dust off a few colours and celebrate a little.
I know I've got a rich little Red Leather, a cheeky Sunny Skintone but some Off Whites unfortunately.

I think Carl's right, it shouldn't make any difference but especially if you add an agitator to the bottles, which is practically a necessity.

It might be a necessity, Einion, but they'd be mighty small alligators, and sure if you could get them that small, and get them into the bottles without too much trouble sure they'd mix the paint up fine, but is it right mate?
Should we not be looking at alternatives now in this 21st century?

The tops come off of those small bottles.I use small stainless steel balls and it does help to agitate the paint when shaking.BBs might work but they may oxidize with the water based acrylics.....................Wayne

Alternatives to alligators? Have to be crocodiles then.

The shot in shotgun shells in the US is now lead free and may work as is is steel shot. Does anyone know? Maybe 20 gauge shot for size for Vallejo bottles.

I think much of the lead-free shot is bismuth, still very usable for this though for anyone that can easily get any.

A lot of guys on the mini side of things use small chunks of white metal as agitators, most of us have a bit of that lying around so that would be a good thing to try first :)
