Hi Folks

Its been great the past few days, managed to get about 20 hours worth of painting in and apart from a severe back ache and numb backside I was really pleased to get something finished. Its good to get back to what this hobby is all about.

This bust is 1/10th scale and sculpted by Mike Blank and produced through United Empire Miniatures. Although quite a simple piece it has so much going in terms of facial expression and simplistic painting of the jacket and belt. Tried for a cold look to the face.

All flesh is painted in Reaper acrylic and the rest in scale 75 acrylic. The photos do not show up to well the subtle shading and highlights of the jacket, no good at photos and these were taken on my camera phone.

Any comments good or bad most welcome.

Cheers
Tommi

Hey Tommi we don't see enough from your talented fingers !

I am a yooooge fan of MB.
This one really demonstrates what I love about his sculpting.

Your take on it looks terrific here.
I am looking forward to maybe seeing this at Oundle ?

That's excellent Tommi. The face has character which you have captured well. The coat looks good to me.

You are exactly right about this piece and I am glad to see one finally painted up. The face is just awesome. Another face similar is the one on the Swiss Hornblower. So much character on that one too in a much enclosed space.

Looks great like the face ..but boy does he look tired ..great painting

Always like MB stuff he had a knack of getting the feel for a piece just right

Thanks for sharing

He looks really tired - great paintjob on the skin. For my taste the blue could have some stronger shadows. But thats really a matter of taste. Interesting shadowcolor on the belt.
