This is my latest figure, Verlinden's 200 mm bust of a Swiss Guard Grenadier Officer. I'm donating it as an auction figure for next week's Chicago Show. It's done in oils over acrylics. Any comments or suggestions are welcome!

Very nice work.
In my opinion you have overdone the outlining of the eyes.

Like the jacket colour , nice seams as well , I agree about the outlining/shadows around the eyes , and from the pic the r/h eye looks slightly out ..but it might just be the icture and light reflection . Great idea to donate the bust for such a worthy cause .

Dave , great painting overall and I'm sure it'll do very well in the auction. What's the story behind there being only one epaulette worn, sorry for showing my ignorance of this period of Swiss history.

think it will only show up as overdone
