A good friend has arrived this evening having sculpted this bust of Lawrence, he is not on the internet so I would be very happy if some of the sculptors out there could critique this work- He is thinking of casting a few and selling them commercially. Some small touching up to do (the buttons)

Keith, your mysterious friend certainly has talent, some very nice sculpting and he or she has achieved a great likeness. Personally I'd like to see more upper body, but that's only my opinion. Would love to know what scale it is.(y)

Cheers Ken

Hi Ken, no mystery, I introduced you to him at Maelstrom and he enjoyed looking at the work you had on display. Steve used to sculpt for Doulton but has only recently got into figures and is feeling his way. So far he has only done a couple of conversions but like you I think he has talent and will improve and become more adventurous with time. The scale is 200mm, whether he can add to the figure I'm not sure but it is a good suggestion. Thanks for posting,
Keith

Hi Keith,
My friend I think that really gets to bust his face I hope to see them painted.
Very good job!!

Hi Keith,

A pretty good likeness, although like Ken, I'd prefer to see a bit more upper body added to give the bust some size and dimension.

I would suggest to your mate that he tries to get the rank badges on the epaulette a bit sharper. It's not clear to me what rank badges he's wearing, the badges seem rather poorly defined.

Overall though a pretty good effort.

To me, the head looks too large for the body and the neck looks a little short. Also, the right shoulder is assymetrical to the left shoulder. The facial likeness is excellent.
